At the meeting point of the Chapora River and the Arabian Sea, near Turtle Beach, the Yacht Club at Bastian Riviera sits quietly within the landscape — open to the sky, the water, and the shifting light of Goa. Designed by Bricolage Bombay, the building takes the form of a circle: simple, complete, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
The circular plan was not a stylistic gesture, but a response to the site itself. From within, the experience unfolds in every direction — water, palms, boats, horizon. As one moves through the space, the views continuously change, creating a slow panoramic rhythm between architecture and nature. Every seat is connected to the landscape. Every corner belongs equally to the sea and the river.
Built entirely in timber, the Yacht Club carries the warmth and texture of traditional coastal structures. The timber roof, deck, cladding, and handcrafted wooden shingles age naturally with the salty air, allowing the building to weather beautifully over time. Inside, soft hand-plastered white walls reflect the changing Goan light, giving the interiors a calm and airy presence — almost like the inside of a sail.
At the heart of the space sits a circular barrel bar, inspired by the form of a wine cask. It anchors the room gently, becoming the centre around which the experience flows. Around it, the interiors remain open and relaxed — furnished with rattan, linen, and low seating that draw from a quiet tropical language suited to the coast. 
The Yacht Club was imagined not only as a destination, but as an arrival. Guests reach the Riviera by water aboard Sir Tuffy, the resort’s restored wooden river vessel, arriving at the acacia wood dock beside the club. The journey from sea to river becomes part of the architecture itself — an experience of movement, landscape, and anticipation.
More than a bar, the Yacht Club is a threshold into the Riviera world: a place shaped by water, wind, timber, and view.
