Who
Bricolage Bombay is a multidisciplinary design practice based in Mumbai, founded in 2017 by architect Vinit Nikumbh and architect Ankita Mathapati Nikumbh. The studio operates at the confluence of architecture, interior design, museum experience design, digital media, and game design — building not just spaces, but the stories that inhabit them.
The name bricolage carries the spirit of the studio’s methodology. In art and philosophy,bricolage describes the process of creating something new from a diverse range of available things — not from a single blueprint, but from an assembled intelligence of materials, references, and ideas. That is precisely how Bricolage Bombay approaches every project: with a wide-open curiosity, a critical eye, and a maker’s hands-on commitment to execution.
Since its founding, the studio has built a body of work that spans the Museum of Solutions (MuSo) in Mumbai — India’s first children’s museum dedicated to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals — luxury resort clusters in Goa and Virar, cinema interiors across India, maker spaces for STEM education, fine-dining restaurants, retail
showrooms, and speculative digital installations that have been exhibited from New Delhi to London’s Southbank Centre.
