The site located in the heart of the city had once been the location of the most successful food stores in Mumbai with the Who’s who of Mumbai coming to it for shopping requirements. Gradually Foodland as a company expanded into different business models. The Founders/Promoters of the company wanted to convert this to a new Modern Day office – heart of the Company’s functioning worldwide. There were a lot of challenges in the project – firstly – we had a sub ground space – that had a lot of water leakage issues. The Engineering team from the client’s side helped us in sealing some of it – and we had to specify a lot of the materials here to be water resistant. 

The Ground Floor of the premises was located in a residential neighborhood and had low heights. This would make the office space seem much lower as there was also a much denser grid of beams that led the height to be even lower – than what it should have been.
